What's genuinely hard
- Four cases (der/den/dem/des...): the core intermediate climb; our lessons introduce them gradually
- Verb position: second place in main clauses, the end in subclauses; separable verbs split
- Noun gender (der/die/das) is unpredictable. Always learn the article with the noun
- The ü and ö vowels (in minimal pairs)
Tips
- Germans forgive case errors readily. Speak early, refine later
- Long words are just stacked small words: read them right-to-left
